According to journalists in Tampa, “The New York front office is on its way home from Tampa without the Yankees’ having reached a decision on whether to keep manager Joe Torre.”

Apparently, they are heading back to NYC. This must be hell for Joe – I can’t understand how he deals so well with all the crap that goes along with being manager of the Yanks. Is all this delay a good thing? Who knows? But it’s certainly a departure from the old Yankees front office and the Steinbrenner who would fire managers for looking at him wrong.

I still hope they keep Joe, but I also hope they don’t make him sweat it out too much longer. It’d be nice to know, one way or another – especially before we have to deal with the next drama, the A-Rod opt-out chaos. Don’t even get me started on that.
